The 2026 ITRA Prize - Award Winners

Sponsored by the British toy and Hobby Association

The ITRA Prize Awards Committee, consisting of Gilles Brougère (France), Mathieu Gielen (Netherlands), Greta Pennell (USA), Jeremy Saucier (USA), and Suzy Seriff (USA) unanimously decided to award the senior and student prizes to the following nominees:

Two Senior Prizes were awarded in 2026:  Rob Goldberg from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania USA, for his book Radical Play: Revolutionizing Children's Toys in 1960s and 1970s America published Duke University Press, 2023 ISBN: 978-1-4780-2511-5 and Artemis Yagou, from Munich, Germany for her book Construction Toys and Modern European Culture: Education, Politics and Technology, 1830 to 1940 published by Routledge, 2026.  ISBN: 9781032990132   

The Junior Prize was awarded to Liliya Dashevski, University of Rochester, Rochester, NY USA for her forthcoming chapter “Shuffling the Russian Empire: Konstantin Gribanov’s “Geographical Cards of Russia” in Fragile Matters: The Russian Empire and Material Culture to be published by Bloomsbury Press.
